You want to make sure that a call center outsourcing employees or in-house employees are working towards the success of your company. Therefore, it’s great idea to assess employees’ productivity in an effective manner. This post provides you with helpful tips on how to assess employees’ productivity.

Check on Your Employees regularly

While you shouldn’t be a nosy employer, you should try checking on your employees often. You should schedule a time for such monitoring. You want to make sure that employees do not spend most part of the work time on personal activities on the internet or doing other things. Keep an eye on workers who tend to “click away” from a page as soon as you step in.

Encourage Employees to Log in their Works

Employees should record their own work progress using activity logs, progress reports, or checklists. But, make sure that this process is not a burdensome one, but a simple process that helps you determine whether or not you’re on the same page. If you feel there’s need for proof of work logged in or documented, don’t be reluctant in asking for such proofs when you talk with the person.

Request an Explanation of What the Employee is Working On

Also, you should ask an employee to explain what he or she has been working on. You should make employees accountable by directly asking them what task they’ve been working on. When you check on employees, request for explanation of the task an employee has been working on from resumption time till the moment. Don’t just take their word for it, you should request for proofs or evidences.

Evaluate Work in Progress

Another great way to assess employees’ productivity is to evaluate work in progress. In essence, don’t be lax at requesting for tangible proof of performance. And, such performance should be time-bound as well as measurable. For instance, you should set a milestone for a team or project leader. However, you should also ask the employee to provide plans as well as timelines for the project he or she is leading.

Check in with the rest of the team members to see how the project is coming on. You should be involved in tracking the progress of projects that span to longer time duration, and also ensure you evaluate their accuracy and completeness.

Ask for Work and Performance Evaluations from Leaders

Request for performance report sheets from leaders (managers, supervisors, etc) to see how things are faring in your business or company. Subsequently, you can make your input on how to perform better.

Finally, don’t forget to praise, appreciate and commend high performers and good performances among your outsourcing employees or in-house employees.
