Researchers have proved it that employee’s emotional upsurge and emotional state of mind can easily determine how successful their employer’s company would be. Simply put, there is a strong connection between an employee’s level of productivity and their emotions.

What rules our actions and achievement flow from our individual perceptions of life. When an individual is always happy and enthused, he tends to be more productive and successful.

Two characteristic determinants in workplaces are skills and experience. However, attitude is what determines how effective skills and experiences would yield.

There are five types of attitudes, which an employee is expected to possess and they are as follows:

• Being respectful

Where there is a need for greater cohesion and productivity among employees, there should be respect for everyone in the company. These virtues must be exercised at all times and by all and sundry. There must be respect for persons and their views, even when such views are not likable.

• Being enthusiastic

For one to be enthusiastic, is just believing that things would turn around to be good. This is a natural endowment for some people. It is an infectious virtue. To promote higher productivity, workers should be happy in facing any challenge posed by their assigned tasks.

• Being time-conscious

Responsible employees are always time-conscious. The effective organization begins with the way time is being treasured. There must be a period for every task and for every set goal.

• Being committed

The attitude of being or showing commitment to duties is highly commendable. Employees should endeavor to exhibit such traits if the organization wants to grow. The employees must have the company’s interest at heart as they religiously carry out given assignments.

• Being innovative with ideas

Although not every person may be expressing their natural and creative ability at the workplace but every company desires workers who do. Both small and large firms are on the lookout for employees who have innovative traits that are always bold to exhibiting it.

• Being helpful

Business concerns are quick to reach their goals if their employees display a helpful attitude to one another.

One of the functions of a good business manager is to gear his workers under him towards the improvement of their positive attributes. These managers achieve this by being exemplary at applying a positive attitude towards work. There is a greater tendency of employees emulating their boss’ conduct in this regard.

Life is filled with both good and bad traits. However, where the good and helpful attitude is accepted, it eventually becomes contagious.

Final note:

The key to effective organization is found in the employee’s positive attitude to work. Let there be a promotion and practice of healthy behavioral attitudes of employees. This would ultimately lead to enriched working experience, promotions, and actualization of personal goals.
