A top offshore medical billing company has the expertise and experience to offer you world class billing services.

As a lay man, it is natural to think that the medical billing process is nice and simple. The truth is that, the process of medical billing is anything but simple. Sometimes, a lot of pieces have to be brought together before a bill can be sent – this will however depend on what the patient want to have done. Some patients bring one or two specimens to the lab for analysis while some patients need to have more than 3 specimens analyzed.

In order to avoid a medical billing nightmare, it is important to employ the services of an expert to handle all your medical billing processes.

Medical Billing Nightmare Explained:
A patient visits his or her physician for a regular check-up. During the examination, the physician finds out that the patient has a little calcium build-up. The doctor goes on to inform the patient all the possible medical conditions that this could be, including, possibly, tuberculosis. But to make sure, the doctor sends the patient to the lab to have a tuberculosis (TB) test. The test results actually come back positive for tuberculosis, but it could be a false positive because the patient works with lots of young people in the educational sector. The patient is then sent to the x-ray department (or imaging center) in order to find out if the result is a false positive or not. The X-ray results come out negative, then the patient is sent the lab for a blood test in order to find out if there are any liver or blood problems that could possibly prevent the patient from getting medication for the next couple of months in order to prevent the patient from actually getting tuberculosis.

Now, the patient has been to the doctor for regular check-up, which was covered by insurance, to the x-ray department for a chest x-ray – this is also covered by insurance and then to a lab for a blood test, also covered by insurance. Now, it actually turns out that the x-ray is not being covered by the patient’s primary insurance but the patient’s secondary insurance.

The medical billing nightmare begins: The doctor sends patient’s bill to the primary carrier. The lab sends a bill to the primary carrier and the x-ray department also sends a copy of the patient’s bill to the primary carrier who immediately rejects the claim. The x-ray department notifies the patient who then has to go and submit the bill him or herself to the secondary carrier. The secondary carrier will then send a request to the doctor and lab in order to find out if there are other things the patient was billed for before they eventually pay on the secondary claim.

If a competent medical billing company has handled the lab billing and other medical billing processes, the bills would have been all at once on behalf of each place and the paying of the medical claims would have been effectively handled by the different carriers and this includes the secondary carrier.
